Kiss Me Once

If you’ve got a four legged friend with foul breath, I’ve got your new favorite pet treat. Greenies! The folks who developed this great product say that of course it came about as a solution to a problem. You guessed it! Their beloved dog Ivan had, ahem, bad breath. They worked with a board certified veterinary nutritionist and other experts and finally came up with the ingenious treat that dogs and owners both love! They continued to work on the idea, changing ingredients, flavors and design and finally came up with a product that works for all types of dogs and now a product for the feline in your house too! There are look alike products out there, but none as good as these. I use them regularly with my pets. I’ll only buy Greenies!
You can find Greenies in most local pet supply stores, at your vet, and online. The Greenies site even has a store finder, if you’ve not been able to find them locally. I could keep talking about these great products for days, but I’d rather you try ‘em. The folks at Greenies will send you a free sample for your cat or your dog just for the asking. (limit one per household) So go ahead, give your four legged, furry kids a reason to smile!

If you’ve tried Greenies, I’d love to hear your story. If not, get your free samples and let me know here in the comments what your furry kid thinks. And after all, fresh breath puppy or kitty kisses are what its all about, right?
I’m Going Bananas!
Few shows are remembered as fondly as The Banana Splits. Combining live action, costumed hi-jinks, classical animation, and rock music with pre-teen psychedelic imagery at a break-neck pace, this show spoke to a new generation of TV babies, and they listened . . .
The Banana Splits themselves were a pinchbeck rock band made up of a dog (Fleegle), a lion (Drooper), a gorilla (Bingo), and a small elephant (Snorky). The band was designed to resemble The Monkees (who in turn were designed to resemble The Beatles) and they hosted the show by appearing in live-action bumpers between the components of the program.
Their songs were Fab Four retreads. The classic I Enjoy Being A Boy included the I Am A Walrus-style verse “I live in a purple plum mansion/In the midst of a strawberry stream/And mellifluous bells ring out softly/from a hill of vanilla fudge cream”. (!) The furry foursome usually appeared in “music videos” showcasing their antics in theme parks or in short sketches filled with playful puns.
The show itself resembled the prime time comedy hit Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In with its frenetic pacing, psychedelic graphics, and short comedy blackout sketches, mixed in with longer episodic features.
Fast forward 40 years….
The Banana Splits Adventure Hour was a landmark moment in children’s TV; the show was a herald of the new youth culture that was poised to invade the living room, and helped shape an entire generation. Now, you can introduce your child to Fleegle, Drooper, Bingo and Snorky and share a bit of your own childhood.
The same hugely popular costumed rockband is back! Coming to a television near you, starting September 2, The Banana Splits will star in brand new music videos and comedy shorts. And debuting this month the all new website www.bananasplits.com! Built with kids ages 4-7 in mind, new fans can watch comedy videos, listen to and watch music videos, play games and even join the Banana Splits club!
What kid doesn’t love a joke? Making them up, hearing them, oh and telling them? Now, they can (with your permission of course) phone it in! There’s a special toll free number, you and your child can call, and if the “Splits” think the joke is tip top notch, it’ll be incorporated into the website. (How’s that for 15 minutes of fame?)
Kids love mail. Email, snail mail. You name it. They can send fan mail to the guys in the Fan Mail section and one of them will reply back in a Fan Mail Video!
The coolest part is the Banana Splits Fan Club. This section is kid heaven! Complete with membership certificates which are downloadable and club cards, it’s totally safe and kid friendly. No email addresses, phone numbers or personal info of any kind is requested! What more could a mother ask for?
It gets better! I know I’ve listened to sappy, sugary, kid tapes and cd’s, that are repetitive to the point of nausea. Totally less than incredible. The Banana Splits flavor is ever so adult friendly. Careful though, you’ll find your self tapping your toes and singing along!
The 60’s television show spawned a myriad of toys and games and my bet is these guys make it to toy shelves before Christmas.
We tested the site on our 3-8 year old kids. Overall, the younger kids liked the site better. The slapstick humor, bright colors and “sing-songy” videos grabbed their attention and held it. If you’re thinking of buying an entertainment cd/dvd for the 3-4 year old set in your house, Banana Splits is what you’re looking for !
