We’re Not In Kansas Anymore

I’ll leave you to draw your own conclusions here. And participate in the poll over on the sidebar.
From ozdom: Occasionally in self-defense I will want to post or comment in the bird’s blog (who I will refer to in the future as the chic-my favorite term of endearment). My favorite football coach always said a good defense is a good offense. So, you sometimes might find might find my comments snarky or pithy, only because I sweat in the salt mines daily and come home in a mood that leads the chic to refer to me as blockhead, butthead or worse.
So readers that is my introduction, let me leave you with this gem: The next time your hubby or ‘significant other’ has something to say about the price of the shoes or dress you just bought, just tell him “That ain’t no money in cotton country, bubba”.

Well Slap Me Down and Call Me Sleepy

According to a new study, tossing and turning for one night can lead to brain shut down! Well, I think that I discovered that first! Flash back, 27 years. Beano first came into my life and despite all the joy of being a new mother, diapers, feedings, depression and well (the list goes on), my formerly healthy sleeping habits went to hell in a hat box. Fortunately, in those days I didn’t have a career that involved risky business like climbing or operating heavy equipment. There were days when I just muddled through.
Today, I’m not changing diapers, dealing with a sick infant or the like. But, I am sleep deprived. Night sweats, engineer hubby’s snoring and tossing and turning have replaced early motherhood sleep problems. There are nights when I literally stare at the ceiling and count spots. The next day and several days afterward, I’m not good for much. Driving can be a challenge as can the simple act of walking up and down stairs.
These guys are on to something here…but I discovered it first!
