Physician Heal Thyself

In this speech, Obama talks about having integrity within himself and his campaign. Among other things. This is the full context of the speech.

Yet, look at the following and you try to tell me that there’s integrity.

I can’t make this stuff up folks, you decide.

If you’re going to show ads quoting FactCheck.org, you might look at the latest reporting of the facts which provide the true context for those quotes being used in McCain’s ads, and how FactCheck themselves is admonishing McCain’s campaign for the lies and misrepresentations in them:

“With its latest ad, released Sept. 10, the McCain-Palin campaign has altered our message in a fashion we consider less than honest. The ad strives to convey the message that FactCheck.org said “completely false” attacks on Gov. Sarah Palin had come from Sen. Barack Obama. We said no such thing. We have yet to dispute any claim from the Obama campaign about Palin.”

Looks like more of the same from McCain and Palin.

@Missives From Suburbia: Checked them, thanks. Still I’m not impressed with the “INTEGRITY” spouted from Obama and then he says differently.

I’m sorry, but you have me totally confused.
It seemed to me that your post only served to prove Obama’s point. The McCain commercials appear to contain little to no actual content…they merely take tiny snippets of quotes and twist them to suit their own purpose.
I can completely respect your opinion that Obama is not on the level, but I am going to need some more substantial proof if you want to sway my own opinion on the matter.

I guess I completely missed the point of this. I watched the McCain ads and thought you were trying to show how the McCain campaign is doing exactly what Obama said they were, by twisting words and making issues where there were none to distract the voters from the real issues, like the war, the economy, health care, women’s rights, etc.

Then I saw the comments and realized it was the exact opposite.

I don’t take anything in a campaign ad as fact - on either side. Ever. Campaign ads are MARKETING tools. Not news.

I am of the very strong belief that McCain is the wrong choice. It seems like a no-brainer to me, and I sort of live in a state of disbelief that it’s not a no-brainer for everyone else, too.

This is why I stay out of politics on my blog. Because I really love people like you and other Repulican bloggers I know and I don’t want the fact that I totally disagree with you politically to color our blogging relationship. In fact, it’s totally out of character that I’m even leaving this comment.

But I wanted to tell you that I think you might need to re-frame your post if you want to send a clearer message.

    Still love ya.

Interesting, Deb. I’m really on the fence here.

@Simply Shannon: Shannon, I’m not trying to sway anyone one way or the other. I’m just sayin…integrity seems missing..from BOTH sides. I’m not making a decison online or here for either candidate. Too many bloggers take all at face value and immediately attack. My personal advice to all is to read read and read again, listen to both sides (if we can ever get to the true issues) make informed decisions and most of all VOTE. If a person doesn’t vote, she/he has no grounds for griping.

@bejewell: Thanks for your opinion. And you got my point. I’m certainly not on either side of the fence right now. I AM looking for both sides to get to the issues and soon. I’m tired too of all the “mean” girl attacks on Michelle, Sarah and Cindy. I stand continually appalled that women, who consistently bitch about ‘glass ceilings’, inequity and so forth continue to pick away at these highly successful women. I’m just sayin’

I also was confused by your post and the subsequent campaign ads you linked to. It took me a few minutes to actually figure out what you were saying. The campaign ads to me, actually hurt MCain. But again, as the other poster mentioned campaign ads are MARKETING tools.
