Like a bird on the wire,
Like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tried in my way to be free.
Like a worm on a hook,
Like a knight from some old fashioned book
I have saved all my ribbons for thee.
If i, if I have been unkind,
I hope that you can just let it go by.
If i, if I have been untrue
I hope you know it was never to you ~Leonard Cohen
I'm Deb, overeducated, unappreciated, married (but not for long), mother of one grown son (my hero), step-mother to one gorgeous (literally) grown up daughter. Beano (my son), is married to a great woman and they have two wonderful kids. (Yep, that makes me a grandmother! Hey, I worked for these grey hairs!) We have all sorts of wee small folks in our household, its always a new day. I've worked in the airline industry, the hospitality industry and a few others along the way. Lately, I've had a few senior moments, and more than a few how did I get here moments. Life takes funny twists and turns. Don't let anyone tell you differently.
Engineer hubby and I live in Mississippi with Harley (our mini daschund) and Bandit (aka fat cat) . I'm now an author (looking for a publisher) and writer on this blog and a few others. I'm not a mommy blogger, well I'm a mom and I blog so yeah, I'm a mommy blogger. Deal with it.
When I started this blog two years ago, it was the listing site for my vacation rental company (now defunct due to the slowing housing market and umm fuel prices that roughly resemble porterhouse steak prices). It morphed into a frugal living blog, did pretty well and I've noticed lately that its way off message, in that frugal living has become a side line. Truthfully, that's ok. There are enough bloggers out there telling you about their personal finance plans and encouraging those who are interested in learning about scrimping and saving. That was not really my goal, but rather, to show how to live on a budget and enjoy it. (I digress)
So Bird On A Wire has become much more.
