About Me

Like a bird on the wire,
Like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tried in my way to be free.
Like a worm on a hook,
Like a knight from some old fashioned book
I have saved all my ribbons for thee.
If i, if I have been unkind,
I hope that you can just let it go by.
If i, if I have been untrue
I hope you know it was never to you
~Leonard Cohen

I’m Deb,(the Bird On A Wire) overeducated, unappreciated, married, mother of one grown son (my hero), step-mother to one gorgeous (literally) grown up daughter. Beano (my son), is married to a great woman and they have two wonderful kids. (Yep, that makes me a grandmother! Hey, I worked for these grey hairs!)

Engineer hubby and I live in Georgia  with Harley (our mini daschund) and Bandit (aka fat cat) . We have all sorts of wee small folks in our household, its always a new day. I’m currently authoring a personal memoir (looking for a publisher) and writer on this blog and a few others. I’m not a mommy blogger, well I’m a mom and I blog so yeah, I’m a mommy blogger.

When I started this blog several years ago, it was the listing site for my vacation rental company (now defunct due to the slowing housing market and umm fuel prices that roughly resemble porterhouse steak prices). It morphed into a parenting blog, has done pretty well. Prior our move to Georgia, I have spent more than 20 years in Communications, Marketing and Finance Management. I’ve worked with the airline industry, hospitality industry and more than a few others along the way.

I’m available for blog and article contribution, speaking engagements, training workshops, online consultation and more. You can find out more about me by checking my LinkedIn profile. My specialties include business development, marketing, social media, creating buzz, word-of-mouth promotion, motivation, PMA and humor. I can be reached by email as found on my Contact Page.

Randomly,  I present Remarkable Bloggers© , devoted to bloggers who are arresting, bold, conspicuous, eye-catching, marked, noticeable, observable, outstanding, pointed, prominent, pronounced, salient, and striking.
