Back in the 70's when we were all a lot younger, (some of you not even born yet), Harry Chapin sang a song about 30 Thousand Pounds of Bananas loaded on a runaway 18 wheeler in Scranton, PA.  I honestly had no appreciation for that until this week! Seems everything that could happen, has. And my days have been like 30 thousand pounds of smashed bananas !

Birds Eye Views has opened today ! In keeping with the Banana theme And just in time for the Grand Opening, The Banana Splits dropped by! Don't remember who they are ? Check out more details at Bird's Eye Views.  In honor of the Opening, we're holding a little give away.

The folks at Warner brothers were kind enough to donate some collectibles for our give away. They're truly awesome.

1. A 100% organic cotton tee. This little cutie would make any toddler smile. Its hand screen printed with the pictures of the Splits on it. Its the softest little t-shirt I've ever held. And its a limited edition. Yep, there are only 300 of these cuties around.

2. A  Vintage Splits Poster circa 1960...in perfect condition!

So, here's how you enter to win:

1. Read all about the Banana Splits website then, go to The Banana Splits site to view the  show.

2. Come back here and leave a comment on this post and tell me your thoughts, impressions, what your kids thought and wanted to look at and do on the site. Tell me which item (t-shirt or poster you are more interested in winning)  - required. Easy.

3. I MUST have a way to get in touch with you!  nobody@blog.com will not send you a response. I will have to delete comments with no contact info.

4. Comments will close on Sunday, August 31st at 11:59pm Eastern time.

5. I will use random.org to draw the winner and post the results/notify winner via email and in a "Winners" post on Tuesday 9/2/2008

6. You don't need a blog to win, but I MUST have a way to contact you. US residents only (sorry!)

Good luck! And Party On!

  1. The Banana Splits were my favorite show as a kid. NOW, I get to watch it every morning again on the Boomerang Network (shows classic kids’ TV).

We just watching it this morning, too! Danger Island (I think that was the name) was my favorite segment on BS.

Lots of fun. Are they reviving this show?
